Service Description

Offers several forms of temporary housing for men. Has 47 beds in a rehabilitation program (addiction treatment included) in a Community Residential Facility for federal and provincial offenders. Operates an Emergency Shelter offering 21 temporary beds, food and support services; intake begins at 1 pm. Offers longer-term Transitional Housing in both dormitory and private rooms for adult men, which includes a full meal plan. Accepts men on methadone maintenance. Men without sufficient funds may be assisted. All programs are abstinence-based; residents must commit to sobriety during their stay. Provides a free community meal several days of the week. Meals are served from the first floor dining room from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Funded in part by BC Housing and Corrections Canada. Also operates an extreme weather response shelter between November 1 and March 31 when weather is extreme. When the emergency weather response is activated, 30 mats are available; sign-up time is 1:15 pm. Shelter doors open at 8 pm and mats must be claimed by 9 pm. After 9 pm, unclaimed mats are assigned on a first come first served basis.
