Service Description

Provides basic needs support for low income people living in Vancouver and Burnaby; capacity building services; and a variety of weekly activities. Food hampers are available to low-income Burnaby and Vancouver residents who need emergency assistance until they receive their next income or visit the food bank; hours are 9 am to 11 am Wednesdays. Community Drop-in Breakfast runs from 9 am to 10 am Mondays and Fridays. Community Kitchen classes run from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm Mondays. Weekly Women's Connect Group happens 10:30 am to 12 noon Thursdays. A Seniors' Activity Group runs from 3 pm to 4 pm Tuesdays. Also offers clothing assistance in the form of vouchers, honoured at Salvation Army Thrift Stores. Referrals for eye glasses may be available. Seasonal programs include summer camps, the Backpack Program which provides backpacks full of school supplies to low-income families in late August, Thanksgiving turkey giveaway, and Christmas toys and food. Registration is required for most programs. Office hours are 8:30 am to 4 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 8:30 am to 12 pm Wednesdays.
